Located about 30 miles south of St. Louis, Valmeyer is truly by every definition a small town. Valmeyer has an outstanding school system and a wide variety of community groups. A very low crime rate makes Valmeyer an attractive place for people of all ages.

The residents of Valmeyer and surrounding communities look forward to Valmeyer’s annual Midsummer Celebration baseball tournament, parade, and fireworks.  In quite a demonstration of cooperation, St. John’s UCC and St Mary’s Catholic Church host a picnic together every year. Valmeyer is also home to the Salt Lick Preserve, which is a large park area with a scenic walking trail. We also have the Rock City Storage Area, which is home to a large freezer and the National Archives.

Valmeyer is a place that embraces new ideas while providing a safe and welcoming atmosphere where people can live, work and raise a family.

The village is committed to providing quality services. The mayor and trustees work cooperatively with the school district, local organizations, churches, and residents to set goals and ensure the best service possible is being delivered to our citizens.

Proven by the flooding in 1993, the people of Valmeyer, our business community, and village government are great examples of what can be accomplished with perseverance and a cooperative spirit.

I thank you for your interest and I hope you’ll take the time to explore our city and learn of the many advantages Valmeyer has to offer.
