University of Illinois Extension: Monroe County 4-H
In 4-H, you get to decide what topics and projects interest you most. You make 4-H what you want it to be. Work on many projects or focus on one or two. Choose what events sound fun to you, and do them. In 4-H, you have an important role in making your community a better place to live, but you don’t have to do it alone. As a club, you’ll figure out what’s needed most in your neighborhood and find ways to help.
In 4-H, you’re part of a family working together. At club meetings, you’ll learn how to get along with others as you build your skills and help your community. In 4-H, you’ll meet adults who care about you and want to help you succeed. 4-H matches you with mentors who will coach you in areas like problem solving, communication, and teamwork. 4-H introduces you to potential careers and then gives you the training to get the career you want.

Valmeyer Community Chorus
Valmeyer Community Chorus
The Valmeyer Community Chorus (VCC) was formed in 2009 as a part of the centennial celebration that was going on throughout the year in Valmeyer. Under the leadership of Marcia Braswell, the Valmeyer Community Chorus performs at least one concert a year depending on the scheduling. The chorus begins practicing for a concert at least 2 months before the scheduled performance and meet 1 to 2 times a week at the UCC church in Valmeyer. All of our concerts are held at the St. John United Church of Christ in Valmeyer and last 1 ½ to 2 hours. The concert consists of 6 to 8 group numbers with solos, duets and small group songs performed in between. Each concert usually has a theme and the chorus has entertained the audience with many different types of music including: Patriotic, Broadway, Christmas, etc. The group welcomes anyone who is at least high school age or older and enjoys singing!
The VCC welcomes YOU! If you would like to join please contact Marcia Braswell at mbraswell@htc.net or (618) 581-6163.
